MIDWAY GIRLS’ SOFTBALL
2022 FREE WINTER PITCHING CLINIC

Friday’s, January 7th 14th through February 25th

Midway Girls Softball would like to congratulate one of our own, Graceyn Frost on being selected the 2020-21 Gatorade Delaware Softball Player of the Year. In 2020-21, Frost the 5-foot -11 senior left-handed pitcher led the Delaware Military Academy Seahawks to the state semifinals. Frost posted an 18-2 record with a 0.28 ERA, surrendering just 26 hits and 23 walks in 126 innings, while
striking out 268. Frost was the Delaware State Coaches Association Player of the year. She is a three-time First Team All-State Selection and ranked as the nation’s No. 80th prospect in the class of 2021 by Extra Inning Softball. Through Gatorade’s cause marketing platform “Play it Forward, “Frost had the opportunity to award a $1,000 grant to a local or national youth sports organization of her choosing. We are very thankful that Graceyn has decided to award Midway Girls Softball with the $1,000 grant.
Graceyn and her family have requested that it be put towards helping develop our players who would like to become pitchers. By doing so, we are able to offer a FREE pitching clinic this year and thank Graceyn and her family for the grant to help our young ladies. Graceyn is a freshman this year and Pitching for University of Delaware, which will take up a lot of her winter but has offered to attend and assist at this year’s clinic when available. We are excited to see Graceyn pitching for the Blue Hens this season.

This year’s pitching clinic will start on Friday January 7th , 2022, and run for 8 weeks, ending on Friday February 25th . The ages will be 10U to 18U and will be divided in to 3 time slots. 6pm–6:50pm, 7pm–7:50pm, & 8pm-9pm.
ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIGN UP ONLINE @Midwaygirlsoftball.org so we will have a good count of participants. Spots are limited, so please register to ensure you have a spot. For the first week, they will be broken in to groups by age and then split in to slots by experience. The clinic will be in the upper gym at Thomas McKean High School.
This year our lead instructor is another one of our own, Julia Casson.  Julia started pitching at Midway at the age of 10 years old in our Recreation Division, Started Rec. All–Stars at the age of 12, and was the first starting pitcher in 2014 of our Midway Motion Travel
Division. Julia was the starting Pitcher at St. Elizabeth’s High School from her Freshman year in 2014 to her graduation year in 2017, where she was selected Second Team All-State, and selected for the Delaware Blue Gold Team. Julia attended Neumann College her freshman year and was a pitcher and helped the team to the Championship Game. Julia transferred to University of Delaware her sophomore year and played Blue Hen Club Ball her junior year where their team was rated #1 in the Nation for Club Ball at 19-0 that year. They were unable to play her senior year due to COVID. Julia has been teaching private lessons at Midway for the last 4 years and is an Assistant Coach on the 18U Motion. We are looking forward to her leading the clinic and having Graceyn there as well when available.
This Clinic will be offered to our Midway players first and then to the public on a first come first serve basis due to space and time. In the event of bad weather or school closings those days may not be made up due to gym availability.
