Team NewsOrange Crush takes second place at the Freedom USSSA QualifierEldersburg, MD - The Midway Orange Crush team took second place in the Freedom USSSA Qualifier tournament held in Eldersburg, MD during Father’s Day weekend. The OC went 2 - 0 - 1 during pool play on Saturday. The team scored 31 runs while allowing only 6. On Sunday, the team shut out their opponents for 21 innings while scoring 15 runs. The championship game was a classic that when into 4 extra innings using the International Tiebreaker rule. Unfortunately the team fell short on a 2 out blooper down the right field line that scored the winning run. The team's efforts were outstanding. We executed on every level of the game, from good base running and timely hitting to great defense and solid pitching. The girls showed what they are made of and they made their coaches and parents proud. If we continue this level of play, we will definitely make some noise at Nationals. Way to Go Girls!!! |
